Reporting to the Supervisor, Accounting the successful candidate will -

  • Review, audit and print accounts payable cheques;
  • Notify internal and external customers if arrangements have been made in advance for cheques to be picked up when ready;
  • Verify incidentals/mileage claims for compliance to corporate policies;
  • Print any off-cycle payroll cheques; maintain security of cartridge and cheque stock;
  • Ensure print quality of cheques meet bank standards before distribution;
  • Ensure attachments are included with the correct cheque;
  • Maintain accurate organized log of all completed special instruction forms.
  • Electronic funds transfers (EFTs) and Vendor visa payments automated (VPAs) are also audited.

 

 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • ​Post-secondary education with accounting courses or a minimum of 2 years Accounts Payable experience especially with the cheque process.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with an accounts payable computer system/application, SAP is preferred.
  • Demonstrate working ability with Microsoft Office computer applications.
  • Must be a team player as well as work with little supervision.
  • Good mathematical, interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with other departments, financial institutions and the public is essential. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Note:  This is a contract up to six months

Hours of Work: 35 hour per week

Salary: $ 25.15 - $ 33.53
