Teach the community to Dance!
Instruct and supervise various levels of Culture Division Instructional Dance Programs, Culture Division Recital Dance Programs and Recreation Division Dance Programs
Prepare specified lesson plans for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Dance Classes
Prepare choreography for end of session performance
Teach basic to advanced dance steps to program participants through group lessons
Evaluate students and prepare progress reports
Address questions/concerns from students and parents
Perform administrative program functions pertaining to the operation of the classes
Read, understand and abide by all of the City’s and Divisional Standards, Corporate Policies and Procedures, including Human Resources policies respecting Employee Conduct, Health and Safety and Freedom of Information.
Employment period is dependent on the program of employment.
Hours of work are not guaranteed. Hours are dependent on sufficient program registration
Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
Minimum 1 year related experience teaching children, teens and adults
Dance Teach Certification from a recognized instructor certification training programs (RAD, ISTD, BATD, CDTA, DMA) preferred but not required
Must be confident teaching dance to various age groups and levels
Excellent communication and organization skills required
Ability to provide excellent customer service is essential
The successful candidate must possess a valid Emergency First Aid and CPR B certification. The award must be current during the employment period.
Employment offer is conditional upon receipt of a Criminal Records Search, Vulnerable Sector Screening that is acceptable to the City of Mississauga.
The successful candidate must possess a valid High Five, Principles of Healthy Child Development.
Hourly Rate: $16.67 - $20.39 (dependent on the position, additional prep time will be paid)

Interviews will be held December 21 & 22, 2017 at Meadowvale Theatre or 201 City Centre Drive.
All candidates who are successful in the interview stage will be required on Thursday, January 4th for a dance audition and practical assessment.
A Criminal Record Search will be required of the successful candidate, at their own expense, to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted.
