This eighteen month contract position will be conducting research, consolidating department information and conducting financial analyses in the preparation for the City’s 2019 Development Charges Background Study update.


Primary Responsibilites


Reporting to the Manager, Development Financing & Reserve Management, the successful candidate will:

  • Provide support for the preparation of the 2019 Development Charges Background Study
  • Compile required data in working with multi-disciplined professionals and cross-functional staff
  • Assist with the co-ordination of the flow of information between the successful consulting lead and City staff
  • Provide development charges-related analyses
  • Assist in the development of key development-related financial policies
  • Work with departments to prepare long-term financial forecasting models for capital needs
  • Review new development related legislation and provide feedback to the appropriate staff/management in terms of impact on City departments
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Job Specifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Economics or related field and / or CPA accounting designation
  • 3 to 5 years related experience (municipal experience is preferred).
  • Candidate must possess knowledge of the Development Charges Act and its related regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work effectively under pressing deadlines are essential.
  • Proven experience and skills co-ordinating professionals and cross-functional teams are important.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word and PowerPoint are required.
  • Knowledge of Questica Budgeting software is an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Note:  This is a contract up to 18 months

Hours of Work: 35 hour per week

Salary: $42.16 - $56.22 / Hour
